BODY OF ROCK SINGER JEFF BUCKLEY FOUND IN MEMPHIS FULLY CLOTHED IN RIVER MAY 29 1995. HE NEVER SAW 9/11. HE SAW THE GULF WAR. BORE WITNESS, THEN DIED.
Jeff Buckley died swimming in a river.
In the outro to the song Dream of You and I by Jeff Buckley, he says “as long as you got that on tape, ill remember that.” A final version of the song was never produced.
Its a song he heard in a dream. Hes in a college auditorium and everyone is singing this beautiful chorus “you and i… you and i…”. I guess its supposed to be from a man to his lover, saying he gives everything to her. She takes his friends, family, life, dreams, time and days and he gives it up. Theyre singing at an AIDS rally and they keep pointing to a sign with aids crossed out like ghostbusters logo.
The next song is a cover of Boy with a Thorn in his Side by The Smiths. At the end of the song he does a reggae version of the song and talks about how some reviewer called it embarrassing when he did it irl. He talks about how its funny that all these people says its racist and then do folk covers of blues and soul songs. Its funny. Something about Jeff Buckley was a bit too human. Just a bit too close to whats above, so below etc. In the painting on the sistine chapel, I think jeff buckley touches gods finger. Not sure how else to describe it.
”When I die youll find all these basement tapes of me doing reggae, for days.” Then he does a cover of Poor Boy. By Elvis. Prophecy then Irony. what else is more real? Oh that was so real. A lot of everything remains jeff buckley, and I feel a lot things will always be buckley. Me you, the holy spirit, Jeff buckley. Hallelujah, Amen. Etc etc.
